Trying to make sense of it all, Jack enters the basket, meets with Zhao, and joins the mission to rescue Su Lin, learning the ways of magic from Wizard (Francis Ng) and self-defense from his new partner, with the gang making their way across a perilous land.Ī teenager struggling with bully issues, Jack (Uriah Shelton) loves video games and his mother, Annie (Sienna Guillory), a single parent struggling to make ends meet. While Su Lin takes to modern American culture and style with ease, she’s soon hunted by Arun’s men, who eventually kidnap her. Late one night, Jack is visited by Zhao (Mark Chao), an ancient Chinese warrior who’s used the basket to bring Su Lin (Ni Ni) to safety, putting the boy in charge of a valuable princess about to married off to barbarian king Arun (Dave Bautista). Most of the scenes with Dave Bautista were great, which sounds weird if I read that aloud but yet it's somehow true. It stars one of his all time favorite wrestlers. The plot shares numerous similarities with the Forbidden Kingdom, and has plenty of predictable moments, but it also has enough humorous moments to know it's not taking itself too seriously. This is the movie my brother in law, couldn't stop talking about. Jack will need all of his gaming skills as he battles to defeat the barbarian, protect a beautiful princess, and somehow find his way back home. After a mysterious chest opens a gateway through time, teen gamer Jack (Uriah Shelton) is transported to an ancient empire terrorized by a cruel barbarian king (former WWE Superstar Dave Bautista). Epic fantasy adventure meets martial arts action in this thrilling film written by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen.
